It doesn’t make any sense to me why all of the sites in this network are so protective over lame stuff like links. Just link to them, and be done with it.
That was in the news here a while back (Australia) – the dude’s friend just died and he went out on a bender when he found out… poor guy didn’t quite make it all the way home then got really cut when he found out his image was being forwarded around for the lulz.
It’s not as stupid as you put it. There are many other groups, such as Belegarth and Dagorhir that aren’t considered LARPing. The damage is realistic, so no “My fire arm breaks your ice shield!” because that is simply gay No magic either, having magic in something like this is as gay as a 12 man orgy.
Actually, that whole street is full of things going on. There’s a “prison break” happening from the 3rd story of a building, a marching band, a garage band and a bunch of other things going on. They found out when the google car was going to be coming by and decided to put on a show for the car. Go look at that entire street and you will see.
I ended up on the Google cam, but it was very boring and innocuous. I was making a right-hand turn. In fact, it took me a minute to realize it was really the Google car except that I had seen the shadow of it on street maps and recognized the camera bubble. There are no markings on it to identify it. I guess that keeps idiots from making rude and stupid gestures at it as it goes by.
I’ve been house hunting and, in addition to looking at the listings, I’ve been checking Google street view to get an idea of how neighborhoods looks. Two houses looked great in the listings, but the Google street views left a lot to be desired. In one, there was a woman passed out on the front lawn cuddling a liquor bottle. In the other, there were four police cars parked in front of the house with a bunch of cops heading towards the house on foot. Decided to knock those two houses off my “must see” list.

The links don’t last. Google removes the fun stuff as soon as they notice it. They notice it as soon as a link gets lots of hits.
